Leadership Assessments

Why conduct leadership assessments?

The purpose of a leadership assessment is to identify priority opportunities for leaders to enhance their leadership effectiveness. It is also an important foundation for the establishment of coaching goals.

I utilize several options when conducting leadership assessments. These include:

  • Reviews typically include:

    • structured one-on-one interviews with staff, colleagues, and other key stakeholders

    • Participating in team meetings

    • Shadowing

All information is consolidated into a report that provides a clear picture of how the leader’s current performance is viewed and identifies specific areas for improvement.

  • A true breakthrough in 360-degree assessments that connects a well-researched battery of competencies with underlying motivations and habits of thought. Leaders will:

    • understand the relationship between patterns of action and internal assumptions that drive behavior

    • have clear cut insights into their strengths and development opportunities

    • know their creative competencies and reactive tendencies to be able to drive transformative change

  • I suggest that in addition to the 360-degree assessment, that leaders also complete a Myers Briggs to help them understand their personality type and its implications on leadership style and how to lead more effectively.
